These files are organized by the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Scott_catalogue\">Scott International Catalog number<\/a>. This means that files are organized by stamps that have been selected, not by subject. Rejected petitions are difficult to find, and often documents related to failed petitions were thrown away. Luckily, some failed attempts at stamps were grouped with successful stamps making those trails easier to discover.<\/p>\n<h3>Archives and Digital Repositories<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>American Philatelic Society Library, Bellefonte, PA<\/li>\n<li>Duke Digital Collections, Emergence of Advertising in America, 1850-1920.
